“The woman will make or break you – same thing in your cow herd.”
Our philosophy
our mission
In the past, a bull was just a means to and end at Stellpflug Cattle Company. But not anymore.
Since 2020, Andy has worked closely with industry leaders and longtime seedstock producers to build a bull battery of outliers – bulls that bring the whole package with the frame size that’ll translate to added pounds on the rail down the line, combined with calving ease, a solid foot, and exceptional phenotypes.
As such, Andy has invested in some of the top genetics in the country in order to pack quality into his herd, and most importantly, provide the quality you need in yours.
As Andy’s father, Glen always says, “The woman will make or break you – same thing in your cow herd.” Andy took this concept seriously when he arrived on the scene in the registered Hereford and Angus industry back in 2021 when he purchased Hoffman Ranch’s entire Angus and Hereford replacement heifer herds. In the spring of 2022, Andy purchased Hoffman’s entire donor herd, which allowed him to put in nearly 800 embryos into their commercial recip programs in 2023. Andy is also a firm believer that fertility is king, as he employs a stringent cull process that not only takes into consideration catch rates, but the quality of a female’s udder and feet.
Top-Tier Genetics
We have invested in some of the best genetics in the country, enhancing the herd’s overall quality to ensure exceptional traits in both bulls and cows.
Bull Battery of Outliers
We have built a powerful bull battery, focusing on bulls with the right frame size, calving ease, solid foot structure, and exceptional phenotypes for added value down the line.
Fertility Focus
Our strict culling process prioritizes fertility, ensuring that only the best females with superior udders and feet contribute to the herd, enhancing the overall productivity and sustainability.
Strategic Acquisitions
By purchasing Hoffman Ranch’s entire Angus and Hereford replacement heifer herds and donor herd, Stellpflug Cattle Company has significantly expanded its breeding program, with nearly 800 embryos implanted in 2023 alone.
